Copy of Gand & Bernardel Frees, Luthiers du Conservatoire de Musique, No. 601 Paris 1875.
This violin is made of deep flamed Bosnian maple and Bavarian spruce, seasoned 25 years before processing. This type of wood with a deep and wide flame was commonly used by the Gand and Gand & Bernardel workshop and is also used here in this replica. The top wood split from the trunk has fine to medium-wide growth rings. The spirit varnish, colored with dragon's blood, is thin and applied to a saffron-yellow, well-isolating base. This violin was entirely handcrafted from start to finish by Stefan Hansen in Helsingborg in 2015 .
The sound of this violin is balanced in all areas and has a strong carrying capacity.
Very much in the typical character of so many violins from this era of French violin making.
